Walking

Everyone’s Parkinson’s symptoms are different and so is everyone’s basic ability to exercise. Walking is a great place to start!

The key is to try to hit 50% of your maximum heart rate. To find your maximum heart rate subtract your age from 220.

Example: 220 - 63 = 157

Remember to enjoy yourself, that way you will be much more likely to constantly get outside and walk!

 

Standing Up Trick

Here’s a helpful tip about standing up! Parkinson’s can impact your balance which can make standing up a tricky thing. It’s important to keep working on it every day.
